Destination Greek Island Wedding in Tinos.

Dream Greek Island Wedding.

With the glorious warm sun and a gentle sea breeze and views across the bay to the neighbouring island of Mykonos; there could not have been a more perfect setting for this couple’s amazing destination Greek Island wedding on the small island of Tinos, Greek Island in the glorious Aegean Sea.

This London based couple generously flew all their wedding party of around 40 guests out to the Island of Mykonos before transferring them to its smaller neighbour for an intimate Greek Island Wedding in Tinos.

Greek Island Wedding Destination.

On arrival at the luxury venue of  Diles & Rinies luxury villas everyone was lucky enough to have an afternoon of leisure to hang out and chill at the pool and bar before being treated to an amazing meal in the resort’s stunning seaside restaurant.

The next day, it was Wedding time! The Wedding day celebrations began with a yoga session overlooking the Aegean sea, with around half of the guests taking part, it set a beautifully relaxed tone to kick day off and got  everyone up perfectly for the day ahead.

As the morning progressed, the August sun gradually turned up the heat, and early preparations began for our Greek Island Wedding as the thermometer peaked 37 degrees. Not that anyone minded, the entire Wedding party had plenty of time to relax with a cocktail by the pool for a couple of hours before heading inside to get ready in the beautiful, cool brick villas dotted around the site.

Greek Island Wedding Celebrations.

An emotional ceremony on the lawn followed. With outstanding views out to the Aegean behind, it really was a magical setting for a Wedding. The couple has chose to have personalised vows and readings from each of the Bride and Groom’s siblings, providing a wonderfully intimate and unique feel in the glorious Greek August sun.

Guests we’e grateful to cool off a little up on the shaded terrace where the wonderful staff at Diles & Rinies had set everything out beautifully for a fantastic wedding breakfast, followed by some very relaxed and informal speeches.

As afternoon turned to evening and the intensity of the heat had dropped,  the newlyweds and I took the opportunity to go for a stroll around the resort an capture some lovey intimate couple portraits incorporating both the textures and backgrounds of the buildings of the resort and the wonderful views out to the bay as the resort became bathed in the beautiful golden Greek light.

Dancing followed and took place long into the night before everyone decided to cool of with a late night dip in the pool!

On our final day, everyone chilled around the pool with some guests taking a salsa lesson in the shade while others caught a few more rays before flying home in the morning having enjoyed a fantastic wedding mini break in a stunning destination Greek Island Wedding location.

Greek Island Wedding Photographer.

I have been fortunate enough to shoot a couple of destination weddings now having worked previously as Wedding photographer in Tuscany. If, like me, you enjoy glorious sunshine, beautiful buildings and the whole vibe of the Greece I can highly recommend Tinos as a destination for a Greek Island Wedding.

At around 40 minutes on the Ferry from it’s larger and more well know neighbour of Mykonos, Tinos is a small island with a bustling main town around the port. With plenty of tavernas and restaurants to choose from, this Greek Island has a more authentic and less touristy feel than many of its counterparts, and definitely feels more off the beaten track. I especially enjoyed walking around Tinos town’s steep, narrow lanes in the evening as musicians played outside the tavernas as locals danced.

If your planning a wedding abroad and would like a wedding photographer with a relaxed approach who will blend in with your guests and capture moments big and small with minimum disruption, please have a look through the rest of my work.
