Weddings at Horsley Hale Farm
I have been happily married for 12 years so my wedding day is now a fading memory (I foolishly didn’t have a professional wedding photographer – who does that?) If I were having my wedding day now, my first choice venue would definitely be Horsley Hale Farm.
This awesome fenland venue offers a unique and rural blank canvas to create your own personal style with plenty of space to accommodate.
For a non-traditional, boho, festival style or simply a rural feeling wedding in Cambridgeshire – it has to be top of the list.
As a photographer that loves to shoot non-traditional and quirky weddings it ticks all the boxes for me. It oozes character and rustic charm and offers a wealth of shooting possibilities for stunning couple portraits. I love to get great golden hour shots and the huge open fenland skies mean this can be achieved with ease (if the weather is good of course)
It’s not just big skies though; The wooded avenue is just gorgeous and the aforementioned lakeside is also stunning and perfect for some really natural couple portraits.
Did I mention the animals? It is a farm after all so expect to see chickens roaming around and to top it off they also have alpacas and who doesn’t love alpacas?

Award Winning Venue
The award winning Horsley Hale Farm is a magical place just ten minutes from the historic cathedral city of Ely and half an hour from Cambridge.
It is set in six acres of stunning fields, with a lake, gardens, woodland and glamping accommodation on site so many of your guests can stay over.
I’ve been lucky enough to shoot at the farm a few times and did some photography for the venue when they first started doing weddings back in 2016. The owners, Stuart and his family are great, they’re so chilled and nothing is too much trouble. You’ll struggle to find a friendlier more approachable venue for your wedding.
You arrange everything exactly the way you want it. With no obligation to use preferred suppliers, no corkage, no restrictions.
It’s a superb place for a humanist ceremony or wedding with a real festival vibe. Cermonies often take place on the jetty down by the lakeside which is such a cool spot for a truly memorable ceremony. Guests are provided with hay bales to sit on too.
If you haven’t done already the Horsley Hale Farm website is well worth a visit.
