Stunning Cambridgeshire Wedding at Holmewood Hall.

Bride and Groom Kate and Mark had been one of many couples who’d had to put their wedding plans on hold for a whole year because of the Covid-19 pandemic. They had hoped that their July wedding at Holmewood Hall in Cambridgeshire would be an opportunity to see all of Kate’s family from Romania, but due to restrictions only the Bride’s mother was able to travel. This turned the emotions levels up to eleven, and what was already a long awaited celebration became a truly joyous, but emotional wedding day.

The Wedding Day

We began the day for bridal preparations in the amazing luxurious and incredibly spacious renaissance bridal suite at Holmewood Hall. While Kate had her make-up done, a few key guests including Kate’s Mum and her best friend were able to kick back and enjoy coffee and pastries on the sofa whilst overlooking the venue’s stunning grounds.

Just a short hop over to the suite on the opposite side of the stairs allowed me time to join the gents as they finished bacon butties before getting ready in equally fitting surroundings.

The ceremony was hosted in the wonderful “Gold Room’ where a live stream took place allowing those from overseas to join in the nuptials.

A relaxed reception took place on the terrace while we took the opportunity to stroll the stunning grounds to capture a few portraits down by the lakeside and in the bandstand.

After the wedding breakfast, we were treated to speeches that were intense, emotional, joyful and funny. They really did tick all of the boxes for great wedding day speeches.

A warm summer’s afternoon became a beautiful golden evening, so we took advantage and I walked the venue’s amazing grounds with the newlyweds to capitalise on the beautiful golden hour light with a few more portraits. As the happy couple caught their breath and I captured some intimate moments the guests could be heard laughing and enjoying the glorious July evening with a selection of garden games.

After such a long break it feels so good to see everyone out enjoying the party vibes again.

A Cambridgeshire Wedding at Holmewood Hall

In the heart of Cambridgeshire, close to the City Peterborough sitting unobtrusively in the fenland countryside lies Holmewood Hall.

This beautiful venue, which is nestled away discreetly sits completely surrounded by the flatlands and huge skies of Cambridgeshire. The venue offer exclusive use of house and grounds and the opportunities for stunning couple portraits are pretty much endless. I spent just 2 short sessions of around 10 minutes each with the bride and groom and captured a really good variety of shots with some amazing light (including some awesome lens flares) later in the day in the hour or so before sunset.

Holmewood Hall plays host to sixteen luxury rooms which were recently renovated. For the bride and groom, they offer our renaissance honeymoon suite, as grand as it is comfortable.

For this wedding, the ceremony took place in the Gold Room which boasts a 50-foot long aisle and an 18-carat gold ceiling. but, for those who wish to be married in nature, the bandstand offers an alternative setting in among the immaculate grounds – weather permitting of course…

If you are looking for a Tudor Manor to host your wedding in the Cambridge and Peterborough area , A wedding at Holmewood Hall is a fantastic choice. I’m really looking to shooting weddings here throughout the different seasons and will add more images here as I do.
